HazMat has performed many asbestos soil contamination works throughout Christchurch & Wellington. This includes works for Wellington City Council, (WCC) Ministry of Education (MOE) and Subdivisions for property developers. In addition small works like removing a few M2 from a residential garden using asbestos fibre cement sheeting as backing board/ fencing for a vegetable box.

Land testing & soil analysis usually involves small amounts of soil collected using a variety of non-invasive measures. In cases of excavation works, deeper soil sampling may be conducted which involves invasive excavation of the site.

We can be contracted to oversee works, create and execute approved methodologies. This will ensure safe asbestos soil removal, onsite screening or onsite encapsulation while still meeting the excavation and construction objectives of reusing the area safely.
